Is the Mises Institute In Decline?

I like to tell people that Johnny B. Hunt is the reason J. B. Hunt Transport (Stock symbol:  JBHT) is so big and Gene K. Chapman is the reason it's so profitable.  Between 1997 to 2001, I was the personal adviser to Kirk Thompson, current Chairman of J. B. Hunt.  I am responsible for about $172.2 million cash or $3.62 billion of the company's 2016 stock price valuation.  But enough about me.

The reason J. B. Hunt is so big is because Mr. Hunt had a vision to be everywhere.  This came from his faith in Jesus Christ to spread the Gospel, and that takes money, big money!  He would walk in the office each morning (back before I came along, before he retired) and say, "Are we big yet?"  The answer was always expected to be, "No Sir."

Mr. Hunt grew on keeping his staff excited about growth for his agenda of spreading the Gospel of Liberty throughout the world.

From personal experience, I'm worried that the Mises Institute lacks that drive to spread their part of the Gospel of Liberty to all the earth.  That apathy is a threat to all of us, even unto death.

When you stop growing and dreaming, you are in decline.
